GREAT !!!!!
The wait staff are well groomed clean giving prompt nice and helpful service. The nachos are my favorite. The meatloaf and mashed potatoes were very good. The chicken fried steak last night was a very good one. The salad was deep green with raspberry vinaigrette dressing. Excellent. The omelette smother in melted cheese with hash browns biscuits and cream gravy and patty sausage was as good as it gets. The coffee was very good for restaurant coffee. These hard working restauranteurs are doing it right!!!!!
Good food and friendly service
Stopped here on the way home from a Colorado trip. Food was really good and waitress was nice. If by chance I am near the restaurant again, I will make sure to drop in.
Good people and good food.
It was a nice, clean and friendly place. The food was delicious! Wish the prices weren't so expensive, I don't know if the prices are worth it.
Gave this place a try tonight and I'm glad we did! The server Benjamin was so friendly and kind to us. The food looked amazing when it came out and tasted awesome. They have a bunch of sauces you can try and they have sweet tea. Definitely a great spot in Clayton.
Mac and cheese is on a whole new level
LOVE the food!! So good! Amazing staff! So friendly! Highly recommend this place!!
Best place in town! Fast friendly service and the best pulled pork ever!
Mac N' Cheese is straight fire 🖤🔥🔥🔥
Ribs with sauce were very good. Very tender and great taste. A little more smoke would give this a 5 star. Coleslaw was excellent. Will order from here again and they do have carryout. Good job to the owners and staff.
Still sitting here finishing up. Staff is friendly and attentive, food is hot and clearly all made in house (including the fried okra)! Only drawback was a kind of dry piece of fried chicken, but chicken breasts are finicky and all the other options at my table were fantastic.
This is one of those few places you call “a real findâ€. Attractive, wonderful extremely friendly service (made total strangers feel like regulars!) and terrific food with a nice variety. As we were heading back to Midwest, it was last chance for New Mexican cuisine and first hint of BBQ to come in Kansas. We plan to return!
Bathrooms are clean, and room for kids to move around. Food was ok, but nothing to write hoke about.
The pulled pork sandwich and coleslaw were delicious, and the appetizer platter, made up of fried pickles, loaded fries, and breaded mushrooms, was delicious as well.
This place is a no frills BBQ joint with a lovely southwest charm but what they do they do very, very well. If you are looking for a family friendly meal with excellent food, great atmosphere and friendly waitstaff then Santa Fe Trail Cafe should be a scheduled stop on your road trip. The locals here have a real gem on there hands. Serving from 630am to 9pm this should be your destination! Be sure to ask for the warm rolls with cinnamon butter, and good luck picking up the baby back ribs... every bone came away clean!
Delicious! Wonderful people to serve us!!!
Nice clean atmosphere to fine in. Food good.
8 people in our party and not on complaint. Good food.
Sweet Tea is on the menu. The waiter was the best waiter, great with kids. Great BBQ w/ hickory sauce and the hamburger steak was just as great. They served an actual salad with all the veggies that should be in a salad and it was fresh. For an appetizer we enjoyed the Fried pickles and the families favorite cheese fries with brisket which was amazing. The rolls with butter/cinnamon was enough to call desert. Thank you guys for a great meal, keep it up! Texas☆
Very cute little place. The customer service wasn't too bad. But the burgers were burnt pretty badly. Probably just a fluke. We'll have to try it again sometime
Passing through Clayton and stopped for lunch. The restaurant was very clean. Had the pulled pork sandwich with french fries, it was delicious. They had a selection of sauces, I tried their homemade original, it was very good. While I was there the people at an adjacent table had a number of requests to modify some of the menu items, the waitress checked with the kitchen and came back, said everything that they had requested could be done. When the food was brought to the table the chief came out to make sure that everything was prepared to their satisfaction. They seemed very happy with the food and the extra effort the staff went through to have everything prepared to their specs.
Great staff, clean, ok food.
Benjamin was an amazing server! Made it a very personable experience. He recommended dishes when we asked and when we asked if we could mix between the pork and brisket tacos he was more than accommodating (we ended up just getting brisket tacos). I had the brisket sandwich and it was all that I hoped for after a long day of work.
I had the ribs with slaw & squash 😘ðŸ‘🤸â€â™‚ï¸ very good. Waitress was VERY understanding of our extremely picky child. Husband had meatloaf, salad , potatoes. All very good. If you are in Clayton & hungry, give this place a try !!
Great place!!!
Sweet people, fast service and great cobbler! You won’t leave hungry
Great find on Hwy 87 as we were headed back to Texas. Surprised to find they have only been open since mid-June. Mashed potato bowl was delicious, fried chicken salad great. Stop in for a visit!
We were the only ones there but it was great. Need to get awareness up so more people can experience the deliciousness. Everyone that tried the macaroni and cheese said it was the best they've ever had. The honey butter was awesome. If the rolls had been better we'd give 5 Stars!****We love Ketchup ðŸ˜
Really good breakfast. We will stop here again in our travels.
Great breakfast!
Passing through town and I stopped for a bite and some gas. The bite came out of the kitchen as a feast, huge portions! Very satisfying. Their in-house smoked BBQ reminds me of home.
Amazing ribs and pulled pork - fall apart delicious!! Friendly wait staff . Amazing BBQ sauce- of the 4 offered, we loved the hickory and the smoked the best!
The staff was so nice and corporative the restaurant was so clean amazing food.
Good food and friendly staff.
We were driving from TX to Colorado for spring break and stopped in for lunch because of the great reviews. I’m sorry to say that the food was absolutely terrible. Cold, burnt tasting and some weird sauces on the bbq chicken that they claimed was sweet homemade bbq sauce. Tasted like marinara sauce. The mashed potatoes tasted like something out of a box, unseasoned and same with the green beans. The food was just awful. The service was great and the waiter was really trying hard but the food was some of the worst we’ve ever had at a restaurant. I wasn’t going to leave a review but felt that I had to warn other out of owners so they can save their money!!
Waited 45 minutes for food and there was one table of 4 before us. We ordered the appetizer plate. When asked if we could get the food Togo because of how long it was taking the kitchen staff was very rude at the request.
This were the best ribs we ever ate!!!We will come back whenever we are on the way from Texas to Colorado or back! :-)
GREAT food! Highly recommend!
